This site was developed by the Federal Trade Commission to protect consumer's rights, and requires that each of the three national bureaus- Experian, Trans-Union and Equifax, provide consumers one free credit report from each bureau each year.
Other sites advertise "Free" credit reports but they are actually selling a service. This site, mandated by the federal government and managed by the three national bureaus, is truly free access to your personal credit file.
